Woot, woot! Come one, Come all!
everybody grab a ball!
Volley, volley, volleyball!
What do you do with a volleyball
I bump the ball with my arms outstretched
and fingers intertwined.
Basket, basket basketball!
What do you do with a basketball?
I hoist the ball above my head and
shoot it in the hoop.
Tennis, tennis, tennis ball!
What do you do with a tennis ball?
I whack the ball and lob it high
and deep onto the court.
Golf, golf, golf ball!
What do you do with a golf ball?
I swing my club and putt the ball
along along the rolling green.
A ball is round and never ends.
But this is the end of our chant, my friends
You might want to write about sports.
Try writing a poem of your own! You might want to write about sports, specifically about the types of sticks that we use as equipment to play different types of sports, like a lacrosse stick or a golf club, or a hockey stick, or a baseball bat. Or perhaps you might want to write about something completely different. Maybe you might want to try your hand at writing a poem about different kinds of light. Sunlight and moonlight and starlight and a nightlight, or a flashlight. So now it's your turn to write a poem of your own and see what you can come up with.
Happy poem making everyone!
